One of America’s most popular and highly regarded lines of fairway woods, the Quadpro’s are compact and more traditional in their look and feel than are their competitors. The Quadpro’s have lived up to their reputation as dynamic, accurate clubs.
These woods have been hit by more than a dozen testers of varying skill ranges and each has come away with high opinions of the Quadpro’s. In fact, not other wood we have tested has produced such universally positive feedback from so many mid to low handicappers – pros and amateurs alike. Everyone likes the hitting experience and the results attained.
The unique copper ring that encompasses the hard, maraging steel face insert not only provides a cushioning effect to the ball at impact, it also allows for some noticeable forgiveness to mishits. Shots seem to always fly true and feel is noticeably solid on all but the worst mishits. The moderate head size allows for good versatility from turf and tee alike. The bottom weight inserts produce excellent results from all but the deepest of lies.
One of their most appreciated characteristics is that they are very easy to hit for most all swing speeds while at the same time being very stable for hard hitters. It is rare to find a club that possesses both characteristics simultaneously. As more than one tester stated, “I feel very comfortable over this club.”
The verdict came in early on these woods: We just plain love them – everything about them. It’s hard to imagine any low to mid handicapper being disappointed in the Quadpro’s. They hold their own against all competition. We are keeping our Quadpro in the test club repository as a reference wood to use in comparison against new arrivals. Cleveland has come up with what seems to be an ideal combination of forgiveability, versatility and high performance in the Quadpro.
For those carrying just one fairway wood, the Quadpro 4-wood is ideal. Distance loss over a 3-wood is negligible. It is also the perfect compliment to a long-hitting 7-wood.
- Cleveland Quadpro
- 17 degree, 4 wood graphite, stiff
- Length, 42 3/4″, Swingweight, D1
This Quadpro has received a good bit of playing time by two of testers. Our opinions just keep getting better. The magic of some new clubs wears off with time. Not so the Cleveland. Solid, marvelous feel. Excellent control. Hot, long trajectories. Good versatility. This is a great wood. It is an excellent blend of stability and liveliness. Some new woods feel more vibrant and may hit longer, but none have delivered more all-around consistency.
